Baptism

"Grant, O Lord, that all who are baptized into the death of Jesus Christ your Son may live in the power of his resurrection and look for him to come again in glory; who lives and reigns now and forever." BCP, page 306

Baptism according to the Book of Common Prayer: “Holy Baptism is full initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ’s Body the Church. The bond which God establishes in Baptism is indissoluble.” Bcp,298

As Anglicans, we believe that baptism brings a person into the Christian family. Baptism is incorporated into regular worship services on specified Sundays during the year and occasionally at other times. Because baptism is the outward and visible action that connects a person to God in a covenant relationship, it belongs in public worship, rather than private ceremony. Baptism does not make you a member of Calvary, but rather a member of the larger, universal church of Christ. Parents and godparents who want to present infants for baptism, as well as any youth or adults interested in baptism, should contact:

Please contact the clergy at Calvary Episcopal Church (281)342-2147 for more information.

Calvary welcomes and embraces all who join us in doing the work of Christ in our community.
