Jesus answered them, "Have you never read of what David did when he and his companions were hungry? He entered the house of God, and taking the consecrated bread, he ate what is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave some to his companions." Luke 6:30
The Altar Guild prepares the altar for worship. Whether it is preparing the altar, polishing vessels, removing wax from linens, arranging flowers, or pressing vestments, the work is never a burden, always a privilege. Because the altar represents God's presence, it is fitting that we act and speak reverently whenever we are in the worship space. Working in teams, the guild members are charged with caring for the sacred vessels and linens and tending to the general housekeeping of the altar area. They also assist with special services (weddings and funerals), and decorate the altar for Christmas and Easter.
