Laundry Love
Serve wholeheartedly as if you were serving the Lord, not men. (Eph. 6:7)
The Laundry Love Initiative began about eighteen years ago in Ventura, California with a mission to wash the clothes and bedding of individuals and/or families living in poverty. There are now Laundry Love locations throughout the United States. You can read more about the initiative at www.laundrylove.org.
Calvary’s Laundry Love ministry is part of a national initiative to wash the clothes and bedding of individuals and families living in poverty. Since the inception of this program, Calvary has served hundreds of families and done thousands of loads of laundry.
Calvary volunteers are at the laundromat to meet and help each 2nd Wednesday of the month. Donations from the congregation make this ministry possible.
This is a ministry of presence. We do not handle the participants’ laundry; our goal is to put the detergent and quarters in the machines and offer kindness and non-judgmental conversation.
By bringing this economic relief to the family, they now have the option to redirect funds toward food, medical needs, gas, or other everyday necessities. From the infant to the aged, across a broad spectrum of ethnicity and culture, Laundry Love strives to nurture the well-being of each person through friendship.
We ask for your financial support so we can grow this program.
The need increases, as does the cost of paying for washers and dryers. If you would like to help, CLICK HERE and your contribution will go directly to funding this ministry.
