With this simple expression of sacrificial call, our Lord is calling us to always treat those in need as if they were Jesus himself. The
Helping Hands charity of Rosenbreg/Richmond gives Calvary the opportunity to fulfill a portion of that call by helping to provide temporary assistance to needy individuals or families in West Fort Bend County. Together, with other churches in this area, we pledge to have at least two food and clothing drives a year, while also providing a regular monetary contribution in support of the charity.
However, giving to this charity is not limited to the members of the Calvary parish. For over ten years, the children of
Calvary Episcopal School have held a food and clothing drive. Originally, this expression of service and goodwill was organized and taught to the school's student council as part of a scout's Eagle Project from Calvary's own Boy Scout
Troop 1000.
Over the years, other Troop 1000 Scouting activities and Eagle Projects have constructed shelving, replaced flooring, painted offices and supplied various other opportunities for Calvary Scouts to fulfill the service requirements for advancement in the Scouting program.
