Our study this fall will return to the Old Testament with a unit on Exodus and Moses. As we put the lessons together, we strive to ensure that each week provides the students with the scripture and a lesson that has application to their daily lives. Our challenge is to make sure that the accompanying activities are interesting, stimulating and something that will help the children remember the Bible story.
Children’s Chapel
Children’s Chapel will continue during the 10:30 Sunday service. The children will follow the cross during the Gloria. This is for children ages five through fifth grade. We are using the “Creative Ideas for Children’s Worship”, a Liturgical Anglican curriculum, which allows the children to hear the same Gospel as their parents in a child-friendly way. Parents and children hearing the same Gospel will promote meaningful conversations, while helping the children grow closer to a personal relationship with Jesus. All children participate in an order of worship, which includes opening prayer, lessons, Gospel, Offertory and closing prayer. Lessons are portrayed through skits, flannel board stories, games, and other creative activities. The children return to the service during the Peace and complete the worship service with their family.
We look forward to growing our Sunday school and Children’s Chapel groups and meeting new friends and having fun learning about God’s love and promises. As always, please contact me with your questions or concerns. It is an honor and a pleasure for me to continue to watch the children of Calvary grow and mature. Parents/grandparents are welcome to join our class at any time.
